PROFILE

              A.P. Markfed (Andhra Pradesh State Co-operative Marketing Federation Ltd.) is a federation of Marketing Cooperative Societies in the district with the main object of helping the Farmers to secure better price for their produce by taking care of their market needs and providing quality Agricultural Inputs. Against this objective the Markfed’s present activity consists of fertilizer buffer maintenance, sale of farm inputs i.e Chemical fertilizers and Procurement of Agricultural commodities through its member Societies.

Member Organizations:

              The total membership of the Tirupathi district organization at present is 61 no. of Primary Agricultural Co-operative Societies. The Tirupathi District Primary Agricultural Co-operative Societies helps in the supply of inputs to the farmers and marketing the commodities produced by the farmers.

1. Distribution of Fertilizers:

               AP Markfed Tirupathi involves in the Buffer maintenance and supply of Fertilizers (Urea, DAP and other Complexes) to the Societies, Private dealers(B-class members) and other Govt. Organizations. In the Tirupathi district Markfed is having 61 Societies with A-Class membership.

2. Procurement of Agricultural Commodities:

               AP Markfed is the state nodal agency for procurement of Pulses (Bengal gram, Black gram and Green gram) Oil seeds(Ground nut) and Coarse Grains(Maize,Jowar and Bajra) there by ensuring the Minimum support price to the Farmers and avoiding distress sales by the Farmers. In addition to this as per the instructions of the State Government, through GO’s AP Markfed also procures commodities like Chillies and Turmeric under Market Intervention Scheme.
