NMACC

Since the opening of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, artisans nurtured by Antaran have received the opportunity to exhibit their talents live at the Crafts Pavillion. Expert Jamdani weavers were selected for this, as well as a team from Reliance Swadesh, which visited the cluster and IDC and procured authentic Venkatagiri Jamdani from the artisans. Antaran Venkatagiri played a key role in making the loom setup for the display at NMACC, acted as a base for the Swadesh team while visiting the cluster, coordinated the procurement and quality checks, and assisted in the making of artisan profiles. What was initially proposed as a 15-day event has now been extended to 3 months, and 4 batches of artisans have been to Mumbai and back. Through Reliance Swadesh, artisans in Venkatagiri have done business worth Rs. 30 lakhs, including direct procurement and order commissioning to the likes of Nita Ambani herself. This platform has also brough in much needed recognition to hard work and skill of the artisans and spotlighted the cluster.
