Pulicat Lake
Pulicat Lake is the second largest brackish water lagoon in India spread over the two States of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. A paradise for birdwatchers, the Pulicat Lake Bird Sanctuary is home to many species of birds including flamingos, painted storks, egrets, grey pelicans, grey herons, pintails, black winged stilts, shovelers and terns. It is also one of the three important wetlands to attract North-East Monsoon rain clouds to Tamil Nadu in the month of October. It is also the site for the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, commonly known as Sriharikota Range.
Talakona waterfall, Yerravaripalem
Talakona water fall is situated near Bakarapeta in Nallamala Hill Range and 40 Km. away from Tirupati. The height of the water fall here is 270 feet. The forest department is developing the site. Eswara Temple is situated near the water falls.
Kailasa Kona Water fall, Narayanavanam
Kailasa Kona Water fall is situated near Puttur and 8 Kms. from Narayanavanam. The water fall is attracting not only the people of near by districts but also from Tamilnadu.
Nelapattu, Doravarisatram
It is in Doravarisatram mandal. The birds sanctuary there is being celebrated in the form of “Flemingo” festival for 3 days in the month of February. Migratory birds of different species gather at the Lake from Octorber to March.
Kalyani Dam, Rangampet
The Kalyani Dam is a gravity dam constructed across the Swarnamukhi river at Tirupati city and located in Tirupati District of Andhra Pradesh, India. This dam is one of the major sources of water supply for Tirupati city and its catchment areas. Once filled, the dam can cater to the water needs of Tirupati for at least two years.
Mamanduru Forest, Karakambadi Rural
Mamanduru Forest Village is a hub for trekking. History suggests that the composer Annamacharya walked on this path for a darshan of Lord Balaji. Trek routes from Mamanduru end at Tirumala,the abode of Lord Balaji. Kenneth Anderson is a big game hunter who built a house in 1920 that is now forest guest house.The last sighting of the Asiatic Cheetah is recorded from Mamanduru Forest.Mamanduru boasts unique fauna like slender loris the golden geko(reptile)which are found only in these hills
In Seshachalam hills, an astounding variety of Fauna and Flora abound in the dense forests surrounding this Holy Shrine. Secret Canyons, perennial springs, cascading waterfalls, centuries old tall tress, caves, prehistoric rock paintings are located off the beaten track and are reachable only by Trekking under the canopy of dense jungle on footpaths known only to the local tribal and the experienced Trekkers. Thus, Seshachalam became the first biosphere reserve in Andhra Pradesh State.
