Profile
The Organization aims at enhancing the livelihood security of people in rural areas by guaranteeing hundred days of wage-employment in a financial year to a rural household whose adult members volunteer to do unskilled manual work. Each household that has been registered shall be issued a Job Card.

SCHEMES/ACTIVITIES/ACTION PLAN
The MGNREGA programmer in TIRUPATI district is commenced on 02 nd FEBRUARY, 2006 under phase I. The programme is being implemented in a befitting manner and up to 2024-2025 and it is being continued.
The “non-negotiable” of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA)
- providing 100 days of wage employment on demand to every registered rural household,
- ensuring timely payment of wages (at least once a fortnight), paying
- equal wages to men and women,
- prohibiting the use of contractors and labor-displacing machinery, and
- ensuring that only works approved by the Gram Panchayat and other relevant bodies are taken up
Under MGNREGS Programme, earlier community works like Comprehensive restoration of Minor Irrigation tanks, Field and Feeder channels and Land development works are taken up. In addition to the above, as per modified guidelines of MGNREGA various convergence activities are being taken up. In Tribal mandals Land development, water harvesting, afforestation, plantation and SMC works are given top priority for providing sustainable employment & livelihood while creating durable assets.
SSS GROUPS(SRAMA SAKTH SANGHALU)
In the District 15,500 (SSS Groups) Srama Shakti Sanghams have been formed with members ranging from 10 to 40 by covering 4.64 Lakhs wage seekers. Out of which, 8780 SSS groups & 2.62 lakh families have demanded work during the financial year 2024-2025 and 2.62 LAKH wage seekers were provided work.
