Profile
District Industries Centre (DIC) play a crucial role in industrial development by serving as a central point for entrepreneurs, providing them with necessary support and services to establish and grow their businesses by creating awareness among entrepreneurs through entrepreneur Development programs and to assist in getting approvals from various departments and further processing of incentives to the industries.
1. Existing Industries
There are 131 Large and Mega Industries working in the district with an investment of Rs. 37154 Cr. Providing employment to 75791 persons. Prominent activities are Auto components and engineering, agro and food processing, Textile and garments, Bulk drugs and pharmaceuticals, and electronic components etc.
Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises
There are 55580 Micro, Small & Medium enterprises registered in the district with an investment of Rs. 18384 Cr. providing employment to 222320 persons.
2. Industries under implementation
Mega Projects & Large Industries
19 Large and Mega Projects are under active implementation in the district with a proposed investment of Rs. 8949 Cr. and a proposed employment of 20536 persons.
3. Single Desk Policy
Among the many initiatives undertaken as part of facilitating industry set-up in the State, AP government has launched the Single Desk Portal (SDP) in June 2015. The one-stop-shop is helping industries to obtain more than 39 regulatory clearances required to set-up and operate business in 21 days. The SDP supports end-to-end transaction processing with online payment and application status tracking.
There are 41 Pre-establishment, 32 Pre-operation and 17 Renewals have been made completely online under Single Desk Portal.
Government of Andhra Pradesh as part of the implementation of recommendations of Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) under Ease of Doing Business has established Central Inspection System (CIS) with a view to provide single platform to carry out inspection of Industries by various Departments such as Factories, Boilers, Labour, AP Pollution Control Board, Legal Metrology, etc. During 2024-25, Total 2274 applications were approved. Out of which 2254 were approved with in SLA and 22 beyond SLA and 14 were rejected.

Govt. of A.P. extended the MSME incentives for Stamp Duty (100%), Capital Subsidy only for new units (25% for General & 45% for Women/SC/ST/BC/Minority/Special abled /Transgender), Power Cost reimbursement (1.00 per unit for General to 1.50 per unit for Women/SC/ST/BC/Minority/Special abled /Transgender), Net SGST reimbursement (100%).
2. Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme
PMEGP is a credit-linked subsidy programme launched by Ministry of MSME in 2008-09 for creation of employment in both rural and urban area of the country. This is credit linked Scheme of Govt. of India with the object to generate continuous and sustainable employment opportunities in Rural and Urban areas of the country and to provide continuous and sustainable employment to a large segment of traditional and prospective artisans, rural and urban unemployed youth in the country through setting up of micro enterprises. For the financial year 2024-25, 301 units were sanctioned covering a margin money of Rs.8.22 Cr.
3. PM Vishwakarma Yojana
The scheme aims

- To provide skill upgradation to hone their skills and make relevant and suitable training opportunities available to them.
- To provide support for better and modern tools to enhance their capability, productivity, and quality of products and services.
- To provide the beneficiaries an easy access to collateral free credit and reduce the cost of credit by providing interest subvention.
- To provide incentives for digital transactions to encourage digital empowerment of Vishwakarmas.
- To provide a platform for brand promotion and market linkages to help them access new opportunities for growth
