Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Department is the nodal agency in the State for providing drinking water and Sanitation facilities in rural areas. Drinking water facilities are being provided through various types of schemes such as hand pumps, PWS Schemes and CPWS Schemes.

Jal Jeevan Mission (Earlier NRDWP):
The Hon’ble Prime Minister announced the “Jal Jeevan Mission” (JJM) programme on 15th August 2019. The Jal Jeevan Mission aim is to Provide a Functional House Hold Tap Connections (FHTC) to every rural house hold in the country by the end of 2024. Jal Jeevan Mission is a time bound mission mode programme and for its successful implementation by funding 50% central share and 50% state share, community contribution of 10% of capital expenditure by way of cash or kind, 5% in case of SC, ST habitations. (more than 50% SC’s and ST’s population).
