The main objective of the Tribal welfare Department are Educational Advancement, Socio- Economic Development, welfare and Protection of Scheduled Tribes and Implementation of schemes.
There are 06 Post Metric Hostels, 01 Pre Metric Hostel, 08 Hostel Converted Residential Schools, 02 Ekalavya Model Residential Schools, 01 APTW Residential School, 01 APTW Upgraded Residential Junior College, 01 APTWR School of Excellence, 01 APTW Residential Junior College, 01 APTW Residential School(PTG- Boys),01 Mini Gurukulam and 13 Government Primary Schools, functioning in the District.

JAGJEEVAN JYOTHI FREE POWER SCHEME TO ST HOUSE HOLDS
Tribal houses consuming below 200 units of electricity per month, the Government under this scheme is paying free electricity charges to the Electricity Department for 17077 ST House Holds.

AP SCHEDULED TRIBES COOPERATIVE FINANCE CORPORATION LIMITED (APSTCFC LTD), TRICOR
Under this scheme the Finance assistance will be provided to the Tribal’s with subsidy like Vehicle Loans, Agriculture Input loans, other schemes SCA-TSS and Art.275(1). Presently run by the erstwhile Chittoor and Nellore districts.
